The objects of the Africa Prosecutors Association are:

1. to promote  vigorous, fearless, effective, fair, impartial and effective prosecution of criminal offences;
2. to promote high standards and principles in the administration of criminal justices, in support of the rule of law;
3. to promote and enhance those standards and principles which are generally recognized internationally as necessary for the proper and independent prosecution of offences
4. to assist prosecutors in the fight against organized or other serious crime,
5. to promote speedy and efficient international co-operation in gathering and providing evidence, in tracking and seizing proceeds of serious crime; and in the prosecution of fugitive criminals;
6. to promote measures for the combating and elimination of corruption;
7. to promote the professional image of prosecutors and to enhance the recognition of their crucial role in achieving criminal justice;
8. to promote good relations among prosecution services / agencies and / or authorities; facilitate the exchange and dissemination among them of information, expertise, experience and to encourage the use of information technology;
9. to promote an examination of comparative criminal law and procedure and the harmonization of legislative measures;
10. respect and seek to protect human rights as laid down in the African Charter of Human Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations in December 1948;
11. to co-operate with organizations and or associations in the furtherance of the foregoing objectives.
